Winter Wedding in Oxford, Oxfordshire
Did I ever tell you how much I love winter weddings? They are particularly charming here in central Oxford. The town centre is situated by the two rivers so sometimes it gets very foggy here-perfect conditions for shooting. On one of such days, exactly one year ago, I had a pleasure to photograph the wedding of Laura and Ashley. Their wedding was held in the Convocation House , reception in the Ashmolean Museum. More info about the Oxford University wedding venues available here.
Laura was getting ready in Mercure Oxford Eastgate Hotel near the Bodleian Library. Laura and Ashley exchanged their wedding vows in the spectacular Convocation House surrounded by their family and friends. Winter days are really short so we sneaked out for a photo session just after the wedding ceremony. The light in Oxford was stunning! Laura and Ashley were enjoying first moments as a married couple so we ended up staying outdoors a bit longer and took some sunset photos.
After a drinks reception in the Bodleian Library, we made our way to the Ashmolean Museum. The museum, located on Beaumont Street in Oxford is the world’s first university museum. After a mingling time in the Atrium, the guests were seated for dinner in the Greek and Roman sculpture gallery. Once the speeches were finished, the newlyweds and I went off for another photoshoot. The night was rather chilly (at the end of the day it was a Winter wedding:) so we decided to take the evening photos in the Ashmolean’s European gallery.
